About this role

Job Summary

The Junior Software Developer will support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and technical support of Infinity's healthcare software products. Working under the guidance of the Senior Software Developer, the successful candidate will contribute to developing new features, improving existing applications, troubleshooting software issues, and providing timely technical support to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Product Development
  • Participate in requirements gathering and software development.
  • Develop new features and modules based on approved requirements.
  • Support system integrations, including HL7 and ASTM protocols.
  • Write, test, debug, and document maintainable code.
  1. Enhancement of Existing Systems
  • Improve and maintain existing software applications.
  • Implement approved enhancements and resolve software defects.
  • Test changes and address issues identified during QA and UAT.
  1. Technical Support
  • Investigate and resolve assigned client support tickets.
  • Provide timely support in line with established SLAs.
  • Document issues and resolutions and escalate complex incidents when necessary.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding technical issues.
  1. Teamwork and Professional Development
  • Plan and document assigned tasks and project progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and Agile development activities.
  • Follow coding, documentation, and version control standards.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and support after-hours activities when required.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Exposure to healthcare IT systems is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or C#.
  • Understanding of web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and JSON.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control, including branching and pull requests.
  • Basic debugging, testing, and code-reading skills.
  • Familiarity with the Linux command line and basic server operations.

Additional Advantageous Skills

  • Exposure to ERP platforms.
  • Familiarity with healthcare integration standards and protocols, including HL7, FHIR, or ASTM.
  • Exposure to medical device integration or serial communication.
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
